This is a tribute J.D.R Powell. The film is taken from selected scenes of The World at War series (Reckoning). Joe Powell was held as a POW by the Japanese from 1942 to 1945 in Singapore, Java, Timor, Borneo and other Indonesian islands. Like others from this terrible time he rarely spoke of his ordeal. These images were taken on the 3rd of November 2013 on Brighton Beach. This was the date of 2013 London to Brighton Veteran Car run. There was also what looked like an Air Sea rescue exercise taking place off Brighton Pier/Marina.
